Take a look at one of ReserveGroup’s latest projects
09 June 2015
With mobile devices – including tablets and phones now exceeding desktop and laptop usage when it comes to browsing the internet, we wanted to optimise the experience for all site visitors regardless of the device they were using. Starting with wireframes we determined information and functional hierarchy and how that would change depending on whether a user was sitting at their desk, or out and about.

We then moved on to mood boards and researching the current “best of breed” websites with functionality requirements similar to Central Otago Tourism. Gathering inspiration from around the world we used Central Otago’s strong brand guidelines to create a design that was on trend, but using solid design methodology to ensure it didn’t become dated as things changed.

At all times throughout the process, the goals of the user and those of Central Otago Tourism were considered before any design decision was made.

The site was then built using responsive and adaptive technologies, meaning not only does the design respond to different devices and provide the best experience on that device, but also recognises the device and serves images and content that is optimised for the device – generally with a smaller file size for mobile.

Check the site out here and don’t forget to look at it on your phone as well!
