If you simply want to add plain text or edit existing text, just click in the text area in the CMS and type your new text. Remember to click save! However it is likely your changes will be more complex than this, so here are the functions of the CMS editor:

  Print
Prints the content of the currently selected text box of the text editor.
 
  AJAX Spellchecker
Runs an instant spell check of the currently selected text box.
 
  Find and Replace
Search for a certain part of the text, and (optionally) automatically replace it with an alternative.
 
  New Paragraph
Move to the next line and create a new paragraph.
Note: This is a handy tool as it will allow you to apply new formatting styles (for instance text alignment) without affecting the previous paragraph. If you press “enter” instead it will still consider the new line part of the same paragraph for formatting purposes.
 
  Font Name
Changes the selected text to a new font style.
Note: This new style might not be consistent with the style of your website.
 
  Paragraph Style
Changes the style of the selected text.
Note: This new style might not be consistent with the style of your website.
 
  Size
Increases or decreases the size of the selected text.
Note: This new style might not be consistent with the style of your website.
 
  Foreground colour
Changes the colour of the text. To use, first highlight the text you want to change and then click on the dropdown arrow to select the new colour.
 
  Background colour
Adds a background colour behind the text. To use, first highlight the text you want to change and then click on the dropdown arrow to select the new colour.
 
  Apply CSS
Use this dropdown to apply a pre-defined style to the selected text. These styles have been added in conjunction with the design of your website and therefore will be consistent with the rest of your site.
Header 1: The style of all main headings.
Default: The standard style of the body text.
Custom styles: Predefined custom styles for things like feature boxes and sub headings.
 
  Hyperlink Manager
Allows you to add an external link to another website. More information on this in the following sections.
 
  Remove Link
Removes any link currently applied to the highlighted text.
 
  Image Manager
Upload and insert an image into the text area.
Note: More information on this in the following sections.
 
  Image Map Editor
You can use this tool to define “hot spots” on an image that link to different places.

  Insert Table
Click the down arrow to insert a table into the text area.

  Show/Hide Border
Selecting this button will show a dashed grey border around any tables in the text area. This is to give you an indication of the size and shape of the table while you are editing, but the borders will not be visible on the webpage. 
 
  Document Manager
Allows you to easily upload and link to documents such as PDF’s, Word documents or images.

  Horizontal Rule
Inserts a horizontal line to break up the layout of your page.
 
  Insert Symbol
Choose this dropdown to select and insert a special symbol, for example £ ©. 
 
  Align Left
Align the current paragraph to the left.
 
  Align Centre
Align the current paragraph to the centre. 
 
  Align Right
Align the current paragraph to the right.
 
  Justify
Justify align the current paragraph so all the lines end at the same point.
 
  Undo
Undo the previous action.
 
  Redo
Redo the action you have undone.
 
  Custom Links
Add an internal link to the selected text.
Note: More information on this in the following sections.
 
  Format Stripper
Click the dropdown arrow to remove formatting from the text box. If you highlight a piece of text first, the formatting will be stripped from the highlighted text only, otherwise the formatting will be stripped from the whole text box.
 
  Copy
Take a copy of the selected text in order to paste it somewhere else.
 
  Paste
Paste the last item you copied into the text box.
 
  Bold
Apply a bold style to the selected text. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Italics
Apply an italics style to the selected text. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Underline
Apply an underline style to the selected text. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Strikethrough
Apply a strikethrough style to the selected text. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Superscript
Apply a superscript style to the selected text. This tool will make the text smaller and align it to the top. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Subscript
Apply a subscript style to the selected text. This tool will make the text smaller and align it to the bottom. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Convert To Lowercase
Converts the selected text all to lowercase. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Convert To Uppercase
Converts the selected text all to UPPERCASE. To use, first select text and then click button.
 
  Remove Alignment
Removes any alignment (example, Left, Right, Justify) from the current paragraph.
 
  Indent
Indents the whole paragraph one tab space.
 
  Outdent
Removes one tab space from the whole paragraph.
 
  Numbered List
Converts the current line or selected lines into a Numbered List.
 
  Bullet List
Converts the current line or selected lines into a Bullet List.
  
  Toggle Full Screen Mode
Opens the editable text area in a larger window to give you more space to work.
 
  Design View
View the text box with formatting applied and edit using the “point and click” editing tools.
 
  HTML View
Access the HTML code of the text box.
 
  Preview
View the text box as it will be displayed on the page.
